The Summer isn’t over just yet as another new music festival comes to town this weekend!

August. A weird month. Technically Autumn, yet the vibes and events of Summer are still drifting in the air. The last major festival Electric Picnic is yet to take place (lucky for those who nicked a ticket) and the final few moments of uncomfortable heat have yet to happen.

BUT WAIT – it’s not over yet! Lucky for us music lovers, the iconic live music venue Whelan’s is giving us one more weekend of outstanding live music. Taking place over three nights in the heart of the City Centre is We’ve Only Just Begun. This festival acts as a showcase to some of Ireland’s most incredible new rising artists. Live performance will be held simultaneously in Whelan’s main venue and upstairs.

This will be We’ve Only Just Begun‘s debut year, making the event all that more exciting. The theme of female-led acts shines through the line-up, making this festival a proud platform for women in the music industry. The bill for the weekend includes Cathy Davey, Wyvern Lingo, AE MAK, Bitch Falcon and ROE. Girl power? YES.

Currently, it’ll only cost you €20 for a weekend ticket –  meaning you’ll be able to see around fifteen of the best acts Dublin has to offer. See full prices below.

Prices

  • €10 – online day ticket.
  • €15 – door day ticket.
  • €20 – weekend ticket. Buy tickets here.

In general, Whelan’s live venue is famous for showcasing upcoming Irish acts causing a stir on the scene. Major events in the year such as their Winter and Summer ‘Ones to Watch’ showcases are highly respected amongst budding musicians in the City. If you’re chosen to play at one of these events, you know you’re doing something right.
