Melosity's Weekly Dublin Gig Guide

I think we can all agree that it was a music-packed and chocolate-filled Easter week here in Dublin. Although the long weekend has come to an end, the tunes never stop. We have an exceptionally busy week of music ahead of ourselves. So, start burning those Easter eggs off and dance the night away as Melosity brings you some of the BEST gigs in town this week.

Monday 2nd

We-Bloom @ The Workman’s Club.

Presenting: Jacob KoopmanAPENiamh Keane.

A diverse and popular music night showcasing the best upcoming talent in Dublin City.

En Vogue – European Tour

Start your week off in the style of R&B/Pop as Grammy-nominated female vocal group En Vogue take to the Vicar Street stage.

Tuesday 3rd

 Ruby Sessions

The Ruby Sessions are absolutely smashing their artist line-ups recently. Queue early as you can bet it’ll be a busy one – acts TBA.

Venue: Doyle’s Pub College Green.

Wednesday 4th

Macklemore

Having released his new solo album ‘GEMINI’, American rapper Macklemore brings his highly anticipated show to an Irish audience.

Venue: The 3Arena.

Time: 6.30pm.

Ex Oh Promotions presents: MIND the GAP! Heat One at The Underground

Presenting: Bobby and the Blunts, Changing Gears, Sugarcoatings, Anna-Liese and Odd Morris. 

Get down to the very first heat of Ex Oh Promotion’s very own ‘Battle of the Bands’. Grab a seat and watch the beginning of the competition unfold.

Thursday 5th 

Aiken Promotions Presents: Tandem Felix

Tandem Felix bring their Indie/Folk show to Dublin for one night only. As the Dublin 5-piece were recently shortlisted for the RTÉ Choice Music Prize Irish Song of the Year 2017 award, you can tell that this is a gig that should NOT be missed.

Venue: The Workman’s Club.

Time: 8pm.

Theo Katzman And Four Fine Gentlemen 

Mainly known as the singing drummer and guitarist from the band Vulfpeck, Theo Katzman spreads his wings and returns as a solo artist with his own repertoire of rock and roll compositions.

Venue: Whelan’s main room.

Time: 8pm.

Price: €23.

 

Dublin Jazz Presents: Ruba Shamshoum

Jazz, Rock and Arabic musical elements combine to create the distinct sound that is Ruba Shamshoum. On the night, Ruba will be performing her album ‘Shamat’ for all those lucky to hear.

Venue: Bagots Hutton, 6 Ormond Quay Upper, Dublin 7.

BIMM Dublin Midnight Hour

Presenting: Anna-Liese, supported by Nerves. 

A night showcasing some of the best and upcoming talent the capital has to offer. Affiliated with Dublin’s only Commercial Modern Music College, BIMM Dublin, you’re guaranteed to spot some of the best new acts circulating the Irish music scene at the moment.

TOTO – 40 Trips Around the Sun Tour

American Rock legends TOTO stop off in Ireland as part of a world tour to celebrate their 40th Anniversary as a group.

Friday 6th

Arcade Fire – Infinite Content Tour 

Treat yourself to a night of deadly Indie/Rock tunes as Arcade Fire showcase their fifth studio album ‘Everything Now’ to the people of Dublin.

Venue: The 3Arena.

A Night for Aware

Mundy, Cry Monster Cry, BARQ PLUS MORE.

A very special concert bringing artists together in aid of Aware. The concert will be raising much needed funds to support mental health issues in Ireland – a gig certainly not to be missed.

David Kitt

Acoustic/Folk artist David Kitt showcases his newly released album ‘YOUS’ in the heart of the city centre. If you’re looking for chilled vibes and super songwriting, make sure this gig is on your list.

Callous Crows – ‘Daisy Brain’ EP Launch

Saturday 7th

Bands for Repeal 

Presenting: Sub MotionSafariA Ritual Sea and Shrug Life.

A night filled with unreal acts to raise funds for the Coalition to Repeal the Eighth Amendment. Show your support for the movement and check out some of the hottest bands on the scene at the same time.

Venue: The Taproom, Drop Dead Twice, Francis Street.

Time: 8pm.

Vernon Jane & Thumper Double Single Launch

Vernon Jane & Thumper, two of the most popular bands in Dublin come together to perform an electrifying show of INSANE talent. If your mind is ready to be musically melted, definitely check out this gig.

Jet Fuel Chemistry and Stone Sea – Dual Headline

Two bands take to the stage to present a night of hard rock and roll. Garage Rock trio Stone Sea open the night, followed by Jet Fuel Chemistry as they launch their self-titled debut EP.

The New 52 – Green EP Launch

The Richie Buckley Quintet Live at Arthurs Jazz Club
