To get started, we would like to introduce our first featured artist, Mark Corradetti. Mark is a professional bassist currently residing in Southern California. Mark has been playing the bass since he was thirteen years old and has travelled all around the US playing and recording for a multitude of genres. In general, he is a session player with invaluable knowledge and experience within the Music Industry. Check out what Mark had to say and how he became the musician he is today below.

Hey Mark! Let us know a little bit about you.

I’m mainly a professional sideman living in Southern California. I’ve lived here for about two years full time. Before that, I lived in Nashville TN for over 20 years, and before that I lived in the New York area, where I am from. I studied music at Berklee College of Music and have been at it ever since! In general, I play all sorts of styles, read music well, and love to collaborate with other musicians. I have about 25 years of real recording experience playing commercial sessions and also play live whenever feasible.

What is your instrument(s)?

I play the electric bass. Both fretted and fretless instruments.

What type of music do you play?

I play all sorts of popular styles and have a background in jazz harmony. I play pop songs, contemporary jazz, rock styles, funk, EDM, and am even adding bass parts to remixes that are popular right now.

How long have you been using Melosity?

I think about 6 months.

Why did you join Melosity?

I hoped to get hired to play on some interesting material.

What is your favourite thing about Melosity?

It’s a great platform to connect with other musicians  from around the world.

What does music collaboration mean to you?

It means everybody places their ideas on the table and seeing if they work, trying new things, being open to suggestions as well.

Check out Mark’s Melosity profile below where you can connect with him today.
